Michael C. Mitchell

 

Senior Associate.  Mike Mitchell has over 35 years of experience in working government relations issues in Washington, DC, including ten years as a staff member of the Senate oversight committee working for Senator William V. Roth, Jr (R-DE) and over twenty years with Lockheed Martin Corporation, retiring from the firm in 2011 as Vice President, Logistics and Sustainment in the firm’s Washington Operations office.  Mike began his career in Washington with a four-year assignment on the staff of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations. His key strengths include an understanding of the public policy process at the federal, state and local governmental levels, with a particular focus on federal policy relating to national defense and national security matters. Within the defense and national security realm, Mike developed particular expertise in defense logistics and sustainment, specifically in policies and programs to support and maintain systems currently in the defense inventory, defense supply chain management, and approaches to encourage public-private partnerships.  Mike received his Bachelor of Arts degree in American History from Trinity College, Hartford, CT in 1973.  Mike received his Master’s in Public Administration from American University in Washington, DC, in 1977, with a focus on domestic intergovernmental relations.  In 1997 Mike was an industry participant in the Advanced Program Management Class in the Defense Systems Management College at Fort Belvoir, VA.  Mike Chairs the Board of the C&O Canal Trust, is the former Board Chair of Kenwood Country Club, and is active in Boy Scouts, now in his 24th year as a Boy Scout leader in his community.
